   William Dunkak
Champion of Excellence

Bio
 Bill Dunkak attended the University of South Dakota from 1923-1928, and he still holds the all-time Coyote track record in the javelin with a 198-foot effort.

A graduate of Gregory High School, Dunkak won three letters each in football, basketball and track. He was all-conference football tackle in 1926.<p>In 1926, Dunkak set a conference record in the javelin and also scored points in the discus, shot put and long jump. In 1928, he placed second in the Western finals of the Olympic trials.<p>After leaving USD, Dunkak coached for one year at University High and one year at Winner High School.<p>Bill Dunkak was awarded:
All-North Central Conference football tackle for USD, 1926
USD Varsity Football letter in 1923, 1925 and 1926
USD Varsity Track letter in 1924, 1925, 1927
USD Varsity Basketball letter in 1923-24, 1925-26, 1926-27
