Robert (Bob) Duxbury
|With family support and strong rural values, Robert “Bob” Duxbury worked to make South Dakota a better place to raise a family.
In his nearly 50 years of humble service to the state and its people, Duxbury became an advocate for agriculture, economic development, and education.
Born March 14, 1934, near Wessington, South Dakota to Joy & Lois, Bob represented the state and its people in places like China as Secretary of Agriculture. He was also elected to serve in the state legislature for 22 years. Duxbury worked for people across South Dakota – regardless of political persuasion.
Duxbury’s 4-H background and South Dakota State University education gave him a solid career start as an animal science instructor at his alma mater.
