|Lynn Feist was born in 1941 and was raised in the Ludlow area of Harding County. In 1945, the family moved to Rapid City where Lynn graduated from high school in 1959. He attended BHSC in Spearfish while working at Red Owl in Rapid City.
Lynn and his wife, Georgia, purchased the Horseshoe Motel while he continued to work in the grocery business. In 1968, the couple purchased their first grocery store in Faith, SD. Over the years they were the owners of several grocery stores in a large area of western South Dakota and North Dakota. Lynn was very involved in community development that entailed everything from malls to bowling alleys.
Lynn also served on numerous charitable boards, including the Alliance for the Mentally Ill boards at the local, state and national levels. Awards in his name include: Outstanding Jaycee, Good Government Award, and SD Retailer of the Year.
